The Ibero-American Initiative to Prevent and Eliminate Violence against Women
The Ibero-American Initiative to Prevent and Eliminate Violence against Women was approved at the XXVII Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government, held in Andorra in 2021.
Made up of 10 countries, the Initiative was born as the first permanent platform for Ibero-American cooperation on the prevention and elimination of violence against women.
Through a horizontal cooperation model that brings together countries with different trajectories, who share their experiences on an equal footing and participate according to their capacities, the Initiative will seek to contribute to promoting the development and strengthening of public policies and comprehensive laws to eradicate violence against women; improve care, protection and comprehensive reparation for women victims/survivors of violence; and strengthen programs and plans to prevent violence against women.
OBJECTIVES OF THE INITIATIVE

Institutional strengthening
Promote the development and strengthening of public policies and comprehensive laws to eradicate violence against women.

Attention, protection and reparation to women victims / survivors of violence
Improve care, protection and comprehensive reparation for women victims/survivors of violence against women.

Prevention of violence against women
Strengthen the scope of programs and plans to prevent violence against women.
